Celebrating 10 years of Connections & Collaborations
Over the past decade, the number of women-owned companies has grown at a rate five times faster than the national average, with Florida leading the way. Working Women of Tampa Bay has lead the way in celebrating and cultivating connections for women and becoming the largest women’s networking group in Tampa Bay. As we approach our ten-year anniversary, we look to honor ten women who have played an integral role in our growth during a Decade of Dynamic Women Dinner on Thursday, September 5, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Bryan Glazer Family Jewish Community Center.
These powerhouses have helped WWOTB become more than a simple networking organization but an avenue where meaningful connections are forged and women lift each other up—often in life-changing ways.
Proceeds from the dinner will go to support the Working Women Foundation that builds a supportive community of mentors and offer start-up grants to women entrepreneurs. Founded in 2016, the Foundation has given more $20,000 in seed money to more than 30 women-owned businesses. These financial awards have led to tremendous growth on the part of their recipients.
Kali Rabaut of Suncoast Compost, which offers curbside composting as well as event support, tells us:
The seed money grant was an incredible help. We were able to purchase five portable waste stations, and our events just love them. Because these stations can fold up to fit in the back of the car, I am able to let a team member transport the bins. This has freed up my time and allowed me to grow my business.”
And Lisbeth Pacheco with Ethos Roasters, a craft roaster of Fair-Trade Organic beans, says:
The grant helped us build up our inventory and display for the 2017 Tampa Bay Holiday Gift Market by the Junior League. Our business grew 300% after that event! And we now just bought a second roaster.”
We hope you’ll consider attending or sponsoring the dinner to celebrate 10 years of connections and collaborations. By working together, we can continue our efforts to educate, motivate and inspire female entrepreneurs in Tampa Bay to achieve their goals so that they can become women, like you, who lift others to success.
Sponsorships for the event are available. For more information, please contact Michelle Turman at 813-839-2282 or via e-mail mturman@catalystcs.org
