Then join us for this three-hour in-depth workshop devoted to helping you find the write path for your project and to give you the skills to succeed on that journey.

  • How big is your audience? Are you writing for an important niche, or does your work have broader, universal appeal?
  • Traditional, hybrid, independent publishing: The pros and cons of every approach and how to cut through the hype and choose the one that’s right for you.
  • The book proposal: What is it and how can it help me gain publisher’s interest and compel them to invest in my work even before it’s finished?
  • It takes a village: How to find the best resources to help you on your journey, no matter which path you take.
  • Follow-up support: A class is great, but I need ongoing help and support. What can I do to find a tribe of supportive writing folks who’ll keep me bolstered on my journey.
  • I’m published, now what? What to expect when your book is done undefined no matter which path you’ve chosen.

About the Presenter:
LORIN OBERWEGER is a highly sought-after independent book editor and ghostwriter with almost twenty-five years experience in publishing. Her company, Free Expressions, offers intensive, deep craft workshops nationwide. She’s also known for her one-on-one story development weekends for writers of all genres of fiction and creative nonfiction.

Lorin’s students and clients have millions of books in print and have been published by imprints of HarperCollins, Penguin Random House, Scholastic, and other mainstream and independent presses. They have also gained representation with some of the industry’s leading literary agents.

Along with bestselling author Veronica Rossi, Lorin is the author of the New Adult series, BOOMERANG, published by Harper/William Morrow under the pen name Noelle August, which debuted in July, 2014. Upcoming volumes include REBOUND (February, 2015) and BOUNCE (November, 2015). The first novel was praised by Publishers Weekly and Library Journal, among others, and was chosen as a “new and notable” selection for Target Stores across the US.
