Working Women of Tampa Bay invites you to our 7th Annual Leadership Lunch in honor of International Women's Day with featured keynote conversation: "Building Bridges Between People, Cultures and Business" with Dorothy Davis and moderated by Lissette Campos. During the lunch, we'll honor Renee Vaughn as our 2019 Leadership Award recipient. Networking starts at 10:30 at Rusty Pelican in Tampa. Lunch & presentation starts promptly at 11:30. 

About Our Keynote:

Dorothy Davis is a pioneer, social entrepreneur, writer, film creator, innovator, and strategic thinker. She specializes in identifying, connecting, and executing common interests between people, cultures and business from local to global levels to produce positive, effective, and sustainable results.

Born in Liberia of U.S. Foreign Service parents, Ms. Davis grew up in Tunisia, Nigeria, Switzerland, and the United States. With a Caribbean heritage spanning Jamaica, Haiti, Cayman Islands, Cuba and Barbados, she imbues all aspects of her work with a unique multicultural perspective.

Her spheres of influence include a global spectrum of heads of state and government, captains of industry, leaders of non-profit organizations, UN Secretaries-General and agencies, African Union, celebrities, diplomatic corps, civil society and the grassroots. Partners include: the African Union, the Permanent Observer Mission of the African Union to the United Nations, UN Secretariat, UNESCO, ILO, FAO, UNCTAD, UNESCO, UNIDO, UNEP, and a spectrum of local to national governments, civil society organizations and private sector in the U.S. and spanning the globe.

About Our Honoree: 

Renee Vaughn is a Tampa icon who has dedicated her life to helping the community. Through the Williams Consulting Group, she works with corporations, government agencies, private businesses and non-profits to provide a menu of services including media relations, business development, consensus development, client retention, marketing, and creating strategic leadership alliances.

Prior to establishing her firm, Vaughn was a senior administrator for the City of Tampa, Florida. During her tenure, she represented the City or Mayor on over 50 boards and committees interfacing with educational institutions, business leaders, non-profit organizations, and Chambers of Commerce.

Renée is a member of Leadership Tampa Alumni (past chair), Leadership Tampa Bay (past President), Red Cross Angels (past president) and University of Tampa Board of Fellows (past Chair). She was the Chair of the Leadership Tampa class of 2014. She is the past Chair of the Circle of Red for the American Heart Association. And currently sits on the Go Red for Women Cabinet. She is also a member of the Chiseler’s, Women in Executive Leadership (WEL), the H.B. Plant Museum Society, the Tampa General Hospital Women’s Leadership Council, Athena Society, Mary Lee’s House (founding member), the International Women’s Forum, the Moffitt Merit Society, an Ambassador for Dress for Success, Hospice Women of Philanthropy and is a founding member of The Women of the Bucs Life. She was a finalist for the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2014 BusinessWoman of the year and recipient of the Angie’s Award, given to the finalist who best exemplified leadership in mentoring others. In 2015, Renée received the prestigious Parke Wright III Leadership Award from Leadership Tampa Alumni and was named a Woman of Distinction by the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida.
