Women have been starting businesses at a higher rate than men for the last 20 years and tend to create home-based micro (less than 5 employees) and small businesses. Women will create over half of the 9.72 million new small business jobs expected to be created by 2018 and more and more are doing this from home offices across the country. That's why Working Women of Tampa Bay is starting a monthly Entrepreneur Lunch & Learn at Flamestone American Grill in Oldsmar. This month's featured speaker is CEO of The Dohring Group, Inc. & RealWired!, Inc: Brenda Dohring Hicks, MAI.

The event starts at 11am. Speaker begins at 11:30am. Food is served at Noon. You'll have the choice from 5 menu items plus soup or salad. Soda or Iced Tea is also included.

About Our Speaker:

Brenda Dohring Hicks, MAI, is CEO of The Dohring Group, a downtown Tampa based, commercial real estate appraisal, brokerage, development and technology company, and is also CEO of The Dohring Group’s affiliate company RealWired!, a technology firm providing software solutions to the commercial real estate market since 1995. As one of the first women in the State of Florida to achieve the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute, she has been active in appraisal, brokerage and development in the Tampa Bay area for more than 20 years.

Brenda is the recipient of The Florida Real Estate Journal’s Woman of the Year award, winner of Tampa’s Urban Excellence Award and the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Business Woman of the Year and has worked with many of the top companies in the commercial real estate industry including LandAmerica Title, Wal-Mart, Whitney Bank, Bank of America, State of Florida, Met Life, State of Mississippi Department of Transportation, Citi Group, and Chase to name a select few.

Over the period of her lengthy career, commercial real estate has anchored whatever she has undertaken, giving her a level of experience and understanding that allows her to excel at bringing companies and the people within them together to do business more efficiently. She has presented seminars and presentations focusing on the changing trends in the real estate industry and the need to build an "eco- system" of cooperation. She is dedicated to focusing on helping others grow their organizations and their careers by harnessing the power of change. Brenda has studied urban development and redevelopment for many years and applies this passion to the brokerage and development segment of her company.
