Acting Like a Pro 101: Acting & Improvisational Skills for Business Professionals

In an uncertain business world, it pays to be able to think on your feet. That's why some business schools are using improvisation classes to teach skills such as creativity and leadership.

In our Acting Like a Pro 101 workshop, you get a taste for the basic skills that actors use to create a character. We discuss acting techniques that you can use to help you connect to your audience and cultivate the part of your character that you want the world to see.

Participate in fun, interactive improvisational exercises and learn how to apply your new skills at business meetings, networking events, presentations and more. If you’re shy about public speaking, meeting new people at events, or dealing with clients and staff, come to this introductory seminar. We can help.

Facilitators Lil Barcaski and Beth Long have years of experience with acting, directing and public speaking. Lil is the Artistic Director for the Gypsy Stage Repertory, a division of the Showcase Arts Foundation, Inc. She has appeared in major motion pictures, independent films and stage productions. She has been directing theater for over 30 years and has trained professional and amateur actors as well as public speakers. She is a playwright whose second original play is being produced this fall. Beth is an award-winning writer and has acted in numerous plays in the Tampa Bay area. She is on the advisory committee of Gypsy Stage Repertory and is one of the acting coaches for the company. She as an extensive background in performance and public speaking. She is a long-time student of yoga, meditation, and practical applications of modern neuroscience.
